WHAT TO EXPECT

The fun begins with Cocktail Hour featuring passed hors d'oeuvres, complimentary drinks – including non-alcoholic options, wine, and our signature cocktail and mocktail – and photo booth, along with our Prize Dig (wonderful surprises await + everyone wins) and Dream Destination raffle.

Once seated in the beautiful ballroom, enjoy live music and a delicious three-course meal. During the program, hear from survivors at Raphael House about how families are ending the cycle of violence. 

Our Paddle Raise and challenge matches are an opportunity to directly support life-saving services for survivors, while the Live Auction includes fabulous packages with getaways near and far, one-of-a-kind experiences, and more. 

The evening will also feature the our Bid Frenzy (first paddle in the air wins) and Dessert Dash (tables compete to win their treat of choice) – so get ready for a fun night of fundraising!

CONTENT ADVISORY

At Raphael House, we believe that survivors are the experts and we're guided by their voices, experiences, and perspective.

While the evening's program is filled with inspiring stories of resilience, we recognize that hearing survivors share about their journeys can sometimes be hard to hear, especially for those who have been impacted by domestic violence. 

We have incorporated a number of ways to support guests in these moments during the event, including offering a separate and quiet space for use at anytime, as well as providing trigger warnings throughout our programming to prepare guests in advance.

 

BUDGETING

As our biggest fundraiser of the year, our Gala features multiple opportunities to financially support our life-saving programs. In order to plan what support you’re comfortable contributing, here is a list of the activities offered during the evening and their associated costs:

*Food and Drink: Free

Each seat includes passed hors d'oeuvres, a delicious three-course meal, and complimentary drinks – including non-alcoholic options, wine, and our signature cocktail and mocktail.

*Prize Dig: $25 or $60

A wonderful prize awaits every dig! Opportunities are priced at $25 (with prizes valued from $16 - $200) and $60 (with prizes valued from $50 - $800).

*Paddle Raise/Special Appeal: Varies

Make an appeal gift in support of our life-saving programs – at whatever amount feels meaningful to you. 

*Live Auction: Varies

We’ll have a number of exciting, unique packages that guests can bid on in real time. Our auctioneer will introduce each item, and guide the audience with bidding – which can include calling out amounts or raising paddles. The highest bidder wins the package.

*Bid Frenzy: Varies

First paddle in the air wins! Unlike the Live Auction, these exciting packages have a pre-set price. First bidder with their paddle raised and recognized by our auctioneer is the winner. These range from $150-$1,300.

*Dessert Dash: Varies

Featuring fabulous desserts, each created by pastry chefs across our community. As a table, you’ll pick your top 3 choices, and then note the amount you’d each like to individually contribute toward purchasing for your group. Tables with the highest total amount donated will win! If not, don’t worry – your credit card won’t be charged and you'll still receive a delicious, complimentary dessert as a part of your meal. 

 

GIFTS & PLEDGING SUPPORT
Night-of contributions and/or auction purchases will be charged to the credit card registered at check-in, unless other arrangements have been made in advance. 
To pledge support in advance and/or to coordinate payment via a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), IRA, or stock, please use this form!

ACCESSIBILITY

The Hyatt Regency Portland is fully ADA compliant, with easily accessible elevators and escalators. We will have large print event programs for anyone who asks, earplugs available, and videos will all feature closed captioning. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan meal options are available and we will work with Hyatt Regency to accommodate guest allergies to the best of our ability.

PARKING/TRANSPORTATION

Paid parking for $15 is available in the garage adjacent to Hyatt Regency at 190 NE Multnomah St, Portland, OR 97232. Valet is available directly in front of the Hyatt for $25. Additionally, there is some metered street parking available in the area.

We also encourage guests to carpool, bike, or use public transport! The Convention Center MAX Station is conveniently located just steps from Hyatt Regency. Find more details about parking and transportation on their website here.
Note: there is a NCAA Championship event happening at the Moda Center nearby on the evening of March 19, so we recommend planning extra time for travel and parking.

 

GUEST CHECK-IN

There are no physical tickets to print or show us as you check in. 

Registration is located inside the Hyatt Regency Hotel on the 2nd floor (accessible by elevator, escalator, and stairs). There will be plenty of signage and staff on-site guiding you to the right place.

Once you arrive, please first check in at Registration to receive your table number and bid card. You will be asked to swipe a credit card, which is for any purchases made throughout the night. You will not be charged until the end of the event and only for what you spend.

 

CONFIDENTIALITY

Please note that this event is public, and photographs taken throughout the evening will be shared on Raphael House's official social media accounts (below) and in communications, as well as shared by guests and our community. If you have any concerns or questions about being featured in photos, please let us know as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate and support!
